Travel Channel's
Vegas Challenge:
Baccarat, Craps, Roulette and Blackjack
Four
expert players compete in Vegas
Challenge with each
playing their favorite game: Baccarat, Craps, Roulette or
Blackjack. This Travel
Channel special was hosted by Nick Kallos (the owner of Casino Gaming
School and the leading authority on casino dealing) and Anthony Curtis
(publisher of Las Vegas Advisor).
Vegas Challenge features
four expert players, each
playing their favorite casino game. Who will win
the most money?
Nick Kallos discusses the
Vegas Challenge and makes his
prediction: "Given four players of equal playing ability, the
one playing Baccarat should win the competition."
The four games being
played are...
Blackjack...
Baccarat...
Roulette...
and Craps.
Meet the players:
Dena is playing Baccarat.
Larry is playing
Roulette.
Tom is playing Craps.
Lynne is playing
Blackjack.
Nick and Anthony discuss
the games and players
on the set of Vegas Challenge.
Halfway into the
competition the scoreboard shows Tom
way ahead. He's playing Craps and betting aggressively with
Pass Line and Hard Way bets. So far his strategy is working.
But the strategies of the
other players are starting to kick in...
Dena's copious note taking is paying off in Baccarat.
She's winning bigger bets now, especially her "tie" bets,
and is challenging Tom for the lead.
Larry's Roulette strategy is to bet on five numbers that
appear next to each other on the wheel. He's winning and
has increased his bets to $500 per number. He hits
several
numbers and starts closing the gap for first place.
Lynne tries a risky pair split in Blackjack with big bets on
the
table. She wins both hands when the dealer busts.
Nick and Anthony are
surprised; the scores are very close.
Tom, the Craps expert, is
still in the lead but the other
players are closing in.
Nick Kallos and a Flamingo pit boss
look on as the
competition nears its end.
The players go for broke
in an all out effort to win
the
Vegas Challenge. At the end, two of the players have
lost their respective bankrolls. Here is the final scoreboard:
Dena has won the
competition by winning $24,450 at Baccarat. Lynne is in second place with
$20,875 in Blackjack winnings.
Dena is all smiles.
She played a brilliant game of Baccarat.
Nick Kallos was correct
in his prediction that the person
playing Baccarat would win the Vegas Challenge.
